As a tax payer, I am very concerned about school vouchers. I do not feel that it is wise to funnel tax payers' money (which is what vouchers amount to) into private schools that are unregulated by the state. There needs to be some kind of accountability and there is not any at all at this time. This is a feel good, trendy bill that is not supported by the needs of our state and is being pushed by sources outside our state, who do not understand or appreciate Utah’s public school system. There is “choice” already available in the public school system. If a parent’s choice is to go to a private school, Utah’s tax payers should not be responsible to supplement that choice. Please vote against school vouchers because it is an unwise and unnecessary use of tax dollars.
